Have a Say in Jeffco Cuts

Reminder From Great Education Colorado

School Board Budget Meetings

"The good news is that Colorado dodged a bullet when it defeated Amendments 60 & 61 and Proposition 101 by margins of more than 2-to-1 last week.

"The bad news is that, even after the defeat of the 'Bad Three,' Colorado's schools are still in a world of financial hurt. For the third year in a row, Jeffco has to decide where to make cuts in order to balance increased costs and declining per pupil funding.

"For the upcoming 2011-12 school year, the Jeffco school board has to make tough choices, and they're gathering public feedback. This Saturday, November 13th, school board members will fan out across our district to discuss the 2011-12 district budget and proposed reductions with the Jeffco community.

"Cuts to our schools will continue and get worse in the future until we take action together at the statewide level.  If you agree with us that it's time to take action to stop the cuts, let us know here.

"Thank you for all you do for Jeffco's schools and kids."

Sincerely,

Jonna Levine & Kelly Johnson
