School Board Delays Facilities Master Plan

School board decides to delay
implementation of facilities master plan

This week, members of the board of education have decided to not implement any facility changes for the 2011-12 school year. The preliminary Facilities Master Plan is the result of nearly two years of work and is a data-based, independent analysis of the district’s facilities. Recommendations ranged from general renovation projects to phased replacements to school consolidations and closures. Board members say they need more time to thoughtfully study the proposals in the master plan and need further conversations before any decisions can be made. The master plan is a living document and as the board has those discussions, there could be changes to the recommendations.

Once again, there will be no school closures, grade reconfigurations, or school consolidations for the 2011-12 school year.
