Conifer posts one of the lowest college remediation rates in Colorado.

Dear Lobo Parents and Guardians:

The state of Colorado recently announced a college remediation rate * of 28.6%. Conifer High had a rate of 14.7%!.

Our mission statement states:
Always striving to be a caring learning community, focusing on an innovative, challenging curriculum and preparing all our students emotionally, intellectually, and physically for success today and tomorrow.

ACT says the number one way to increase your student's college readiness is rigorous academic course selections by the student. Students should take four years of Math, English, Science, World Languages and Social Studies. These courses will provide foundational skills that will lead to a greater chance of college success. Consequently for most of the past three years, the CHS staff has focused our attention on the development of our challenging curriculum. For example, we have implemented a new honors program for 9th and 10th graders and developed ten new Advanced Placement courses. These courses, on top of our outstanding elective offerings, give Conifer one of the most rigorous academic programs in the entire state.

More posts to come :)

With Lobo Pride,
Dr. Mike

*Assigning at least one remedial course per incoming freshmen. A remedial course is class that prepares the student for college work and does not apply toward college graduation.
