What is PTSA?
What is PTSA?
As the largest volunteer child advocacy association in the nation, National Parent Teacher Association (PTA) reminds our country of its obligations to children and provides parents and families with a powerful voice to speak on behalf of every child while providing the best tools for parents to help their children be successful students.
National PTA does not act alone. Working in cooperation with many national education, health, safety, and child advocacy groups and federal agencies, National PTA collaborates on projects that benefit children and that bring valuable resources to its members. At Conifer High School, in order to recognize the valuable contribution that can be made by the students, we have chosen to call our organization PTSA.
How do we achieve this on our backyard? The PTSA at CHS has many programs that help parents, teachers and students. Here are just a few examples:
- The After Prom Party sponsored by PTSA each year offers a safe and drug/alcohol-free environment for our teens to socialize after the prom.
- During CSAP weeks in the spring, PTSA provides a nourishing breakfast to all students at CHS whThe mission of PTA is to build bridges between homes and schools, integrating the efforts of parents with those of principals and teachers. When you get involved in PTSA, the child who benefits the most is your own. You also are taking a major step toward improving your child's school, your community, and your state and national education and health policies. PTA promotes the education, health, and safety of children and families.
o are taking the CSAP tests.
- PTSA will provide volunteers for the Learning Center at CHS.
- Each year PTSA honors the staff and teachers at CHS with a Teacher Appreciation Week with special gifts and events.
National and State PTA also offer many resources for keeping your family healthy, tips on child safety, guidance regarding internet usage, and many other parenting ideas.
